Takeoff Assemblies are a powerful tool that allows you to complete your takeoff measurement and estimate your material and labor costs all in one action. This tool is one of the most powerful tools PlanSwift has to offer. In this article, PlanSwift gives you a step by step guide to help you get started using Takeoff Assemblies.

To use a Takeoff Assembly:

1.) Click the Drop-down in the Templates, Parts, and Inputs pane on the right side of the window and select “Parts and Assemblies.”

The templates provided by PlanSwift are examples but you can create your own using the templates tab.

2.) Open the folder for the type of work you will be doing and find the takeoff template that best fits your needs.

For this example, we will be using the Concrete Slab takeoff assembly.

3.) Click the plus button next to the assembly to see the parts that are included.

4.) Hover your mouse cursor over the takeoff assembly and click the green button that appears to the left. A window will appear to allow you to change the parameters of your takeoff.

5.) Change the parameters as needed and click OK.

This puts you in digitizer record mode and now you can start drawing the points of your takeoff.

6.) Once you complete the takeoff, PlanSwift will calculate the measurements, quantities, and costs of the parts associated with the Takeoff Template. Click on the Estimating tab to see these costs.

Takeoff Assemblies are a great way to save time by performing both your takeoff and estimate in one action.
