Come meet Mike McDonnell at our Next Show!

Mike McDonnell found his passion for construction at the early age of 14 when he was building houses for a small Builder in Western New York, 48 years later and he’s still working in the industry that he loves.mikemcdonald

Mike was a Referral Partner and started working the trade shows for PlanSwift 2 years before he was even directly hired. When he started he was hired for the sales team, and at the time were only doing a few shows including the IBS and the World of Concrete Trade shows.

“I love what I do. I’ve been selling takeoff hardware (Digitizers) and estimating software for over 26 years. The first 15 years were selling face to face so when PlanSwift asked me to do the trade shows it was right up my alley,” Mike exclaimed.

Early in 2015 a new position was created and Mike took over as PlanSwift’s permanent Trade Show host, travel to numerous shows around the country.  Now Mike does 10 or 11 trade shows every year.

Mike said, “The users out there love the fact that they can talk to an actual person. People like the idea of putting a name and face to PlanSwift instead of just talking to someone over the phone.”

At the trade shows Mike greets, shakes hands, and helps customers experience PlanSwift with a short demonstration of the software. The shows get busy so he’ll take down anyone’s information who is interested in the product and will personally call them to give them a demonstration or answer questions they might have if they didn’t get the chance at the show. Mike said,

“Most contractors don’t usually attend a trade show for just one product, they are interested in seeing the latest products and technologies that are new for their industries. It really benefits contractors, builders and suppliers to see all the new and great things that could help their businesses. Today you won’t find a takeoff and estimating program like PlanSwift, with the overall capabilities that are included, for our great price.”
