Boxwall Flood Barrier
Boxwall Flood Barrier is a freestanding temporary flood barrier made by Flood Control International for a fast and easy solution when flood threats occur. The Boxwall works without any external fastening when placed on hard, even surfaces like paving and concrete.
The Boxwall Flood Barrier is capable of daming 0.5m of water despite it’s lightweight design of only 3.4kg. It works by anchoring the structure down using the weight of the floor water itself so even when its damming water at its full height, it will still stand strong. The flexible coupling makes it possible to create curves once the Boxwall is built so it can fit to any corner or curve on the road.
The Boxwall can be used for a variety of different situations but is particularly useful during flash floods when fast flowing water needs to be diverted away from vulnerable areas with short notice. This will be incredibly useful when trying to protect your valuable construction equipment and material from potential flood waters.
After the flood waters disperse, the Boxwall can be dismantled easily and cleaned by just spraying it with a garden hose. The pieces are even stackable so storage and transportation are easy too as they require very little space.
The Boxwall was successfully tested by the Medelpad Fire Service in April of 2014 against flash flooding in the area and since then has gone viral on the internet.
